Our Story
Oversized wasn’t a trend. It was just how I grew up
Growing up in my dad’s Multi-Brand retail shop, I was surrounded by fabrics, chalk marks, stacks full of apparels and half-stitched dreams. I always picked size L when I was actually an M — not for the fit, but for the feel. Boxy, loose, breathable — it was never about following fashion. It was about feeling like myself in what I wore.
After college, I did what most of us are told to do — took the corporate route. 5–6 years deep into that world, the suits started feeling tighter. Not just on the shoulders — but on the soul. One day, while staring at a spreadsheet, it hit me:
“What the hell am I doing?”
I’d once told my dad I wasn’t going into the family business. And for a while, that was true. But the truth is — the business never left me.
The smell of fresh fabric. The way colours worked with Indian skin tones. The feeling of wearing something that actually fits — mentally and physically.
That epiphany flipped the switch.
I didn’t want to just sell someone else’s clothes. I wanted to create my own — from scratch.
So I quit my job. Bootstrapped the whole thing. And went back to the drawing board — literally.
I AM LOKA Streetwear was born from a mix of everything I knew:
Years of observing boxy, tailored silhouettes.
A deep understanding of what colour makes brown skin glow.
A vision to make wearable art, not just more clothes.
Our first drop? Just 50 pieces per design. Not because of hype — but because that’s what we could afford.
100 per size. No restocks. No mass production. Just intentional design for people who like to stand out quietly.
We’re not backed by a big VC. We’re backed by heritage, instinct, and a refusal to blend in.
This is I AM LOKA. One of a kind. Just like you.
